At Little Explorer, Big World, we believe in the power of storytelling to plant seeds of change. We’re thrilled to announce our latest book donation to Colegio La Esmeralda in Puerto Carreño, Vichada—a school serving both rural and Indigenous communities in one of Colombia’s most remote and biodiverse regions.
The students received copies of Water Girl: The Girl Who Saved the Planet, a bilingual children’s book that tackles the urgent issue of plastic pollution through a story inspired by Melanesian cultures. With vibrant illustrations and an empowering message, the book follows a young girl’s journey to protect her island home—highlighting how small actions can ripple into big environmental impact.
All our books are bilingual, supporting literacy and cultural inclusion across languages such as Samoan, Spanish, Arabic, and English, to name a few. This multilingual approach ensures that children, no matter their background, have access to stories that speak to their hearts and communities.
This donation is part of our broader mission to bring educational materials and environmental awareness to underserved regions. By reaching children in places often left out of global conversations, we hope to nurture a generation of Little Explorers ready to care for the Earth and honor the wisdom of their cultures.
One child. One book. One planet.
