Our founder, Kike Calvo, brings decades of experience as a National Geographic Photography Expert, expedition leader, and visual anthropologist. Having worked across more than 125 countries and partnered with institutions like National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions, Kike leads Luminous with a rare combination of storytelling, cross-cultural insight, and visual mastery.
Kike is a Fellow of both the Explorers Club and the Royal Geographical Society, and co-founder of Colombia Photo Expeditions—one of the pioneers in cultural and birding photography travel in Latin America.
